Muscle Cars, Transformers, And Zune

As many of you know I love muscle cars which is why I love driving around in my beloved Dodge Charger. Here in the Gannotti household we also love a certain movie that sports an incredibly hot muscle car, Transformers. In the movie our favorite Autobot is Bumblebee, the hot Chevy Camero. Since we also are gaga crazy about Zune here in the Gannotti household (see my Video: Michael On The Go – Why I Love My Zune!) it was with great pleasure that I saw an email from Microsoft colleague Dave McLauchlan talking about the new Zune Camero integration possible. He even included some pics. I asked Dave if I could share them here so enjoy.

“Hi All:

Just a quick note to let you all know that we had our first confirmed & successful test of Zune against a GM vehicle in the wild today.

One of our staff visited a Chevy dealership to confirm that the new Camaro’s MP3 connectivity kit worked great with production Zunes. The test was very successful – and this culminates a considerable amount of work with both GM in Detroit and their supplier in Korea to ensure a great user experience.

Zune connectivity is a standard feature on the Camaro which is the first of some 28 models to support Zune as this feature is rolled out across GM models in the US, Europe, Asia and Australia through 2011.

Just thought you folks might like to know. More deals, more makes and more models to come shortly!

Cheers, Dave”

Great work!

Great to see that the Camaro Zune integration works. That might help me decide on what to buy if they're still available next spring after we move and it's time to buy a new ride to Autocross.

ipod?

great the 10000 people who actually own a Zune will love to buy this car, but the 1000000 who own Ipods will not???

Re: ipod?

Okay...
Number 1. You may not like Zune but some of us do and believe it or not but there actually are more than a thousand of us out there.
Number 2 It's called the Camero MP3 connectivity kit. Who said it's exclusionary? It can handle a wide range of devices including iPod but unlike many kits you arent limited to one device.
Its about choice and this provides a viable option for those us who have bought the more than 3.2 million Zunes sold to date. I know that isnt much compared to iPod but why should a system not allow for integration of both which this does?

Nice to see that the Zune is getting some support from manufacturers.

Ipod supported as wel

Again, before you commenters start griping, get the facts. The Camaro DOES support IPOD connectivity as well.

Re: Muscle Cars, Transformers, And Zune

I may not have a Zune or I Pod,,,,,, but my old laptop works great, when I plug it into the dash of my HHR for surround sound to watch movies on.  Keeps me busy watching the movies and the sound is great.
